Why do some Americans believe that 9/11 was inside job, moon landing was hoax, pearl harbor inside job, etc?

Why do some American believe the following is true –
1) 9/11 was inside job
2) Moon landing was hoax
3) Pearl Harbor attack was inside job and Japan falsely accused by government
4) JFK assassination inside job
5) BP oil spill is inside job.
6) All missing people have been abducted by UFO’s.
7) Toyota unintended acceleration recall is a government conspiracy
Why do these people see government so suspiciously?

It’s because they can’t cope with the idea of a world where things happen at random. The idea of living in a place where your safety is subject to the whims of mad men or freak accidents is so terrifying that they endow god-like powers upon a group and blame if for the worlds problem so they at least feel that someone is in control.

9/11 was definetly an inside job. It was an excuse to start a war. Wars stimulate economies.

Mostly because they are stupid assholes who think that being different makes them cool. What it actually does is put up a big, flashing neon sign that reads "D!ckhead" right over their heads. These conspiracy weenies give me gas. I’d rather lick the phlegm off of Flipper’s blowhole than listen to one of those idiots talk!

You can’t put all of those events into the same basket. Anyone who was watching 911, knows the govt didn’t tell us the truth about how it happened.

I am guilty of # 2 and # 4.
#2 – Moon landing. Either it didn’t happen. Or, NASA is the BIGGEST FAILURE of mankind’s history. You want me to believe we flew to the moon in 1969, and in the next 40 years lost to space shuttles just going to and from the international space station. And, why the EFF can we not make it to the moon again, leave alone Mars, without BILLIONS OF DOLLARS AND 10-15 YEARS OF PLANNING. What did we lose the map? (its up in the FRICKEN SKY)

What a thing to ask, why do people see government so suspiciously?
-Haven’t you noticed that they lie a lot, and those lies are easily exposed?
As for your examples,
I suggest you treat them as separate incidents, and research them independently before coming to conclusions..
Your government suggests:
"Carry on as you were citizen
-good thinking."
