I drive a 2000 toyota celica gts. On a full tank of premium gas, it goes from 0-60 in approx 7-8 secs.

I know you have to get a better air-intake thingy and that a better after-market muffler/exhaust is required, but i’m not sure which parts are best for my car. I also want to know if there is any other way to help with the acceleration

It is a 1996 Toyota Celica GT (2.2L 4Cyl.). My check engine light has been on for a year and the car has been to several different mechanics – none of whom can figure out what the problem is. I have had it tuned-up, replaced the fuel chamber, used fuel-injector cleaner and many other things, none of which have helped. Lately, the car has been stalling when it is shifted into drive and refuses to accelerate above 10 mph, for about 10 seconds. It also feels as though I am pushing and releasing the accelerator rapidly at certain rpms (this has been occuring for a year). The diagnostic reveals a rich fuel/air ratio, but does not indicate a mechanical failure. When the gas tank is full or 3/4 full, it smells like gasoline and leaks from below the rear passenger seats. Please help!

i have a Toyota celica (2000 gt) and want more acceleration and power parts are sparse (if i could get a place i can get a good selection of parts online, or near dfw, Texas) or would a chip, or dyno test and tune be a good way to go? open to any good ideas (ive heard the chips were a waste) im not sure need help at as little cost as possible thanks

I have 2000 Toyota Celica GT-S…When I start it from cold start it has a sharp rattle for about a second. Also, when im going down road at slow acceleration and deacceleration there is a rattle type of sound that sounds like a diesel engine. And the last problem, when I am traveling I notice there is a continual low sound like a constant small fast rattling and when I let off the gas, it stops, then starts when I apply gas. Any ideas?

Well my neighbor and I decided to take a little “race” down the street. (He has a 01 Toyota Celica and I have a 99 Honda civic DX). And when we started his Celica took of way faster than my civic and he was almost half way down the street by the time I really took off. So is there to get my acceleration better/faster so I can be on par with is car or even faster.

Everything on my car is stationary
Only have about 0 to spend on the car
I know a Celica is better than a civic but I’ve seen some videos where a Civic has totally outdone some cars
