Remember the Toyota "sudden acceleration crisis"? Well, just like always it’s actually driver error. So do Toyota shareholders get a refund for the cost of all of Ray LaHood’s ham fisted mandates? Or are the millions of losses simply another cost of touchy feely good intentions gone bad?

LOL…. there was no problem to solve…. Bud.
I just heard on the news that back when toyota was having those sudden acceleration issues, it turns out that there wasn’t a problem with any electronics because they recently have done testing on them. So, what would cause the sudden acceleration of those vehicles and I forgot when and what was happening at that time, but do remember those issues? Just heard it on the news briefly. Any info will be helpful. Thanks.
I am planning to buy a Toyota Prius, but after the test drive yesterday I am so disappointed by the acceleration. I was trying to get on the service road but vehicles were exiting at 60-70 mph from the exit just behind where I was and I couldn’t even get on the service road for 10 minutes because I was scared out of my mind. Prius owners please help me decide how do you manage the need of sudden acceleration while changing lanes or turning right when a vehicle is approaching you fast.
It seems to point more and more to the electronics as the main cause of the sudden acceleration issues. I am in the market for a new car and I am wondering which cars are the safest. I assume if Toyota thought it was a good design, many other manufacturers would have copied their system to one degree or another which makes me question the safety of other vehicles.
Toyota cars had claimed 34 lives from this sudden acceleration problem since 2000. Driver cannot decelerate with merely stepping on the brake, but they had to pull the hand brake to slower the car and cut the engine.
