Runaway Toyota Prius in Westchester, New York hits stone wall.

Is it valid for me to start doubting Toyota’s quality now? The idea of the accelerator getting stuck seems to be equivalent to the Pinto fiasco and exploding gas tanks from rear benders.

My friend’s dad was telling me today that Ford seems to have skyrocketed in reliability while Toyota seems to be having some bumps, maybe even declining.

Is this a valid statement?

My question is if a driver who owns a recalled Toyota, who gets into an accident with the stuck accelerator kills a pedestrian or hits another car that kills another person(s). And if they ignore
the recall for months or refuse to get it fixed. Also is there a law in place for a situation like this.
So do u feel that a driver who fatally kills a person(s) with a recalled stuck accelerator should be
criminally liable for a accident. Love to hear your thoughts.

My Toyota Avensis 4D4 has started to lose power at around 50 mph. I can put the accelerator down to the floor, but I get no acceleration, it feels like somethings being blocked. This happened 2 days ago. The problem comes and goes. Is it something to do with the turbo? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
