Man in prison blames 1996 Toyota for fatal crash! Can this be possible?
Posted by adminAug 29
This account of a man coming home from church…now in prison…for vehicular homicide…claimed back then, his 1996 Camry WOULD NOT STOP! –It crashed at 90 mph rear-ending a car and killing the Father and Son in that car. Documents show the man swore the Camry WOULD NOT STOP, but the jury didn’t believe him, and sent him to prison. Do you think it is possible, that this acceleration defect goes back to 1996 or before? Thanks…and here is the recent link to that story in the news http://www.aolnews.com/nation/article/koua-fong-lee-claims-faulty-toyota-brakes-caused-deadly-accident/19380139?icid=main|htmlws-main-n|dl1|link3|http%3A%2F%2Fwww.aolnews.com%2Fnation%2Farticle%2Fkoua-fong-lee-claims-faulty-toyota-brakes-caused-deadly-accident%2F19380139
By the way..the 1996 Toyota involved still exists and has been impounded. It is expected to be tested to see if brake failure, or unintended acceleration was the cause..in which case the imprisoned man will likely be freed.

Yes it’s possible judging by some of the vehicles under the recall. It’s a terribly tragic case.
How would Toyota repay this poor man and his family for losing 3 years of his life, suffer the shame of his conviction and prison sentence …let alone the three people who were killed? All for what? …saving money. Will the Toyota executives involved as well as NHTSA employees be charged with manslaughter for this and many other needless deaths if the cause can be traced to defective accelerators? Perhaps it’s time to send a strong signal that such actions won’t be tolerated.
Once again, greed and the almighty dollar are of a higher concern that people’s lives and their safety. I say throw the execs in prison and let them feel the pain of their decisions. I do feel sorry for Mr Toyoda but it’s hard to say for sure if he was aware of the problems and decisions that were made on his behalf. If so, then he has to answer for them as well.

The Japanese government " In 2006 censured Toyota over improper business practices for failing for eight years to disclose or act on reports of a design flaw implicated in ‘loss-of-control incidents’." * That would take the problem back to at least 1998. So the same chronic problem existing in 1996 is not out of the question. Hopefully the current criminal investigations will uncover the extent and duration of Toyota’s cover-up and exonerate this man, yet another victim of Toyota’s duplicity.

Right that’s gotta be it just like Nostrodamu’s prophecies, now that something big is going on we’re gonna say a guy hundreds of years ago predicted it cause "now" it makes sense.

He definitely deserves an appeal! I didn’t see anywhere in the article that suggests he had been drinking?(like someone above me suggests). He has a legitimate reason to have his case reopened, I mean come on i cannot believe a man coming home from church with his family in the car would open it up to 90MPH!

No as it has had about 5 major changes since then with new engines since and a lot of room.Nobody in prison is guilty. He did not get a DUI-OH he did. Not the Toyota then.

I didn’t think so, since those cars didn’t have electronic throttles, but today I just read an article that said Toyota cars are involved in a far greater number of collisions, so I have to think that maybe this really was caused by the vehicle and not the driver.

Yes it is not only possible but very likely that Toyota is responsible for those deaths.

I think this is not possible, but Toyota really is in a deep hole right now. Hope they can develop more and improve the quality of their cars. I have always loved Toyota though.
