Latest massive Toyota recall of 1.2 million Corolla/Matrix for stalling engines! What next?
Posted by adminAug 29
Defective ECM (Engine Control Modules) cause unexpected stalling in over a million more Toyotas. Why has Toyotas quality become so poor? Here is the latest defective recall link for Toyota. It is a reliable and accurate Yahoo News link. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Toyota-recalls-133-million-apf-545927926.html?x=0
Emiller is correct. VW quality now equils that of Chrysler. In fact, VW’s even look like Chrysler. And I have heard that VW are one of the worst cars in the world next to Toyota.

Toyota’s quality has been going downhill for about 10 years now. They over expanded and let quality slip in an attempt to be the largest automaker in the world.
VW is the next company trying to be the largest in the world. Since their quality is already terrible expect it to get worse.

I want to make this clear. Toyota quality has slightly dropped because of their trust in American manufacturers in auto parts. Originally, in the 1990s, their cars used to be 80% import parts, 20% US parts. Now, that ratio has dropped to 50% import parts, 50% US parts. The defective ECM was produced by Delphi Corporation, one of the largest distributors of auto parts in the world. If Ford used parts from that company during 2005-2008, their cars would have the same problems. Simply put, Toyota should have increased quality control inspection after placing more trust in US auto parts manufacturers as their business expanded.
Thank you for your time and understanding
EDIT: This recall applies to 2005-2008 Corollas, not 2010 ones.
FYI, Fair taxes guy aka the Raven, I do not work for Toyota. Do your homework and read the article that Alan provided. It mentions Delphi Corporation as the distributor for the faulty ECMs. I did not blame them. I blame Toyota for not spotting the problem. Anyhow, that American company does not take "their designs" to follow. Toyota buys the parts from it, which are supposed to be up to standard, and Toyota builds their cars in their OWN factories, using all kinds of parts from different manufacturers.

What is next is they will try to blame it all on the Americans that followed the Japanese designs exactly as they were supposed to. Japan designed, inspected, passed, and said to install them but now they will blame American workers for doing EXACTLY what Toyota instructed them to do.
Pathetic isn’t it???

This is really a sad news since I have always admired Toyota from the start. I think they should really check on their designs because they will really loose a lot if they don’t. Maybe they should invest in more sensors for their cars.
