We have owned 5 Toyotas brand new during the past 25 years and FYI we had to replace one driver’s side exterior door handle on 1993 Toyota Camry LE and one exterior sliding door handle on 1998 Toyota Sienna XLE.
Best place to shop to include color coordination is EBAY, followed by 2 Toyota dealers in Texas: Toyota of Dallas and Toyota of Richardson TX where genuine Toyota parts are 30% off MSRP plus UPS Big Brown S&H.
Hope the Above Info Helps!

Doubtful. Door handles are considered wearable items due to the the nature of pulling them. All door handles will wear eventually.

I work in the service dept of a toyota dealer.I’m not aware of any recalls BUT I always say "give me your vin # and I will check".Inside & outside door handles are replaced fairly often on cars over 10 years old.
