Did you hear about the Toyota recall, because the accellerator sticks?

Maybe Toyota has become so race oriented, that they want to make their cars "go fast". I mean… wouldn’t you love to own a "fast Toyota"?

I have heard & read the news about the Toyota recall. Its covers alot of vehicles too. I agree with your theory. I could handle owning a fast "anything".

Well that sure explains some of Kyle Busch’s mishaps on the track.

Naaah…I drive a semi fast chevy. I would rather watch the fast Toyota’s on the track.

I don’t know what you mean about a fast Toyota but honestly your chances of getting the "STUCK ACCELERATOR PEDAL" is how you treat your car.
***TOYOTA IS DOING THIS FOR SAFETY REASON NOT FOR OMG I have a death car***
(People try to comprehend this in your small minds before seriously abusing them)
Just because of this recall doesn’t mean Toyota is declining on reliability. Toyota halted sales for a particular reason. Other car manufacture would face similar problems and not exactly take actions such as Toyota would.
Nissan’s suspensions has problems, they know about this but didn’t halt vehicles
Honda’s ball joint tends to come off especially from the back wheels (a serious problem)
Ford’s tires especially BF Goodrich pops unexpectedly and minor brake failure has been reported
Chevy’s got alot of automatic transmission problems, so does General Motors, Chrysler, Cadillac, and etc…….THEY ALL HAVE RECALLS BEING MADE
People are stupid and do not understand that what Toyota is doing is very helpful to other customers. What’s really stupid is when someone hears this news and goes, "Oh if we drive a Toyota now we’ll die, they suck we’re buying a new car."
Things like these happens with cars, recalls are always made but in the future they improve.
"Nothing is perfect in this world, live with this cold hard fact."
Its the drive by wire system which is causing the problem, the drive by system is developed in North America (In Indiana, for some Kentucky, Canada) (They refuse to accept the blame). Just in case if people didn’t know Ford also uses the same drive by wire system for their cars as well, so does Subaru, Chevy, Mazda ….shall I keep going……
American Cars are great but no one is interested about what others own and how they’re glad that they don’t drive a Toyota. Toyota isn’t a bad company. If for example Nissan, Chevy, Mazda, Ford or even General Motors suffer something similar to this, I am sure they wouldn’t do anything about it. They would keep quiet because they don’t have the money. Toyota does in fact and took smart decisions to make their vehicles more safer for future generations.
I think you have a 8% chance of stumbling of a problem similar to this depending upon how well you take care of your car.
I am sure you know if this happens to you, apply brakes with both feet and shift to neutral & turn off ignition.
In the meantime BE EASY TO YOUR GAS PEDAL. The more you floor your car the quicker you wear it out and THE HIGHER THE CHANCES YOU HAVE FOR HAVING YOUR PEDALS STUCK.
Good Luck Drive Safe!!!

This recall is a DISASTER for Toyota, because they are the worlds #1 automaker now, and this is the second recall in a short time (accelerator gets stuck under the floor mat) but I just found a couple of safety tips if it does happen:
1. If at high speeds and it DOES stick, put the car in neutral, then turn the ignition off
2. if you followed the first tip, you can hit the brakes if necessary
Honda just released a recall on a certain model for a faulty window switch. The big three automakers(for those who don’t know the big three, they are GM, Chrysler and Ford) must be loving this, because they are ready to go out of bisuness at any moment.

Hats off to Toyota for addressing this problem. Safety comes before the almighty dollar with them. Unlike the big 3. I was told by a big 3 rep back in the eighties that the human factor is considered in their recalls. "Sometimes it’s cheaper to settle a few wrongful death lawsuits than recall a million cars" Give me a company that gives safety priority!

The Jedi Master’s family isn’t sending their new 2010 Barcelona Red Camry back just because of that!
