after the Toyota automobile problems-…?
Posted by adminSep 4
…after the acceleration and breaking control problems with toyota cars it was obvious the company had to have vehicle recalls and a retooling of their industry
this was considered a no-brainer by the industry, society and the government
after the oil platform tragedy why has there not been the same assumtive attitude for a ‘recall’ by the oil industry, a total reassessment of the process, a cessation of production until the issues are resolved
wouldn’t it be fair to do so considering the now obvious flaws in the system?

Because the Toyota "problems" were the result of a need for protectionism after the US government attained ownership in several domestic companies. They needed to protect their interests. Other car companies had greater problems, namely Ford, GM and Chrysler, but they were not focused on by the government for this reason. Why don’t they care about the oil disaster? Because it’s not in their interests. Regulation costs money and decreases profits, and gets oil to the US slower. The Louisiana fishing industry and wetlands tourism isn’t worth as much.

Toyota had problems – that’s not in question. But the Obama administration, recently having acquired Government Motors, found itself in a very nice position to knock a competitor out of the market. What a surprise they made a huge deal out of it.

B/c oil and Toyota are 2 totally different things. Wars have been fought over oil. No one will be fighting over Toyota…
Flaws are flaws, the oil is still good.

I think Toyota should include in their production better and high quality parts. We can’t risk anything because of just a car rag.
